Dear Fame Seeking YouTubers,
Why Do You Upload?
| Many YouTubers upload because they enjoy the process of creating content, like Sawyer Hartman who always had a love for photography, acting, and the arts. Others upload because they wanted an escape from the bad things that were going on in their lives at the time, like Bethany Mota who was bullied, had terrible anxiety, and her school life wasn't the best; she began by watching beauty videos and decided that she wanted to do that too - so she did! You could also look at Tyler Oakley and how he started YouTube; he missed his two best friends from back home when he moved to California, he would upload videos of himself talking directly to his two friends. All of these YouTubers, who are now successful, started out driven by passion and emotion. |
Why?I have noticed that due to the amount of YouTuber success stories, that more and more people are creating channels and uploading content. Why are you uploading? Do you enjoy what you create? Is the topic of your content something you are interested in or passionate about? Or do you upload because you desire the possible fame and fortune? Do you think YouTube is the 'easy way' to fame and fortune? YouTubers actions, motives, and attitude affect the viewers and fans more than you think. |
What about the fans?
Fans enjoy real, genuine people. People who upload content where you can see the passion and/or enjoyment on their face or hear it in their voice.
I know that because I am a fan and I enjoy watching people who seem to have a background, past, and/or live a life like mine - "normal." Those who have struggled, but persevered.
YouTube and the YouTubers were there for me when I felt alone and depressed. I could relate with them. Seeing them happy and having fun brought a smile to my face every time and almost instantly.
I appreciate the successful YouTubers who do get paid for their content, but are still the same person they were before they started and were getting paid. However, I, as a fan, do not appreciate those who let fame and fortune drive and/or change them.

What Next?
The road to fame and fortune is long and narrow - if it even comes. If you are considering creating or have already created a channel, you may want to reconsider your motives before progressing.
Thank You and Happy Thinking,
Jacqueline
